Some excursions give you more than what you approached and made arrangements for. In August 2016, when I set out for the little town of Khandeshwori in Darchula, I knew I would bring back some superb recollections. In any case, going with group Bookmandu circulating books to youngsters at the Khandeswhori Higher Secondary School, little did I expect that the place would have quite a lot more to offer back to us. We entered the Far-west through Nepalgunj, a lively and bright Mid-western city and a business center that interfaces Mid-west to the Far-west.

At that point, as we moved upwards into the slopes, by means of long rough transport and jeep rides, the district turned into all the all the more charming. From kids moving in the rain with their pink umbrellas to watchmen hauling our books on their backs in a storm deluge, far west had a great deal of trust and hopefulness, notwithstanding the troublesome territory and way of life. Indeed, even with avalanches and flooding waterways blocking our advance, the comforting grins of inquisitive local people made each obstacle beneficial.

When we at last achieved our goal, following a 27-hour busride and a two-day climb, our exhaustion turned into an inconsequential commentary. The little town of Khandeshwori, covered by mists and home to the most excellent, upbeat appearances, was the ideal case of why photography is more than simply making splendidly coordinated shots; it is about encountering and “living” the place you photo .
